The topic of the seminar for Regional Development Offices -''Basic guidelines for the preparation of the regional development strategy'', from 13th to 15th April 2009 will gather all participants in the Niš Regional Centre for the Professional Development of Employees in Education.

Special attention this modular specialized seminars will be focused on the areas of modern management that are relevant for the achievement of effective regional economic development. The Faculty of Management in Novi Sad has customized seminar topics to the needs of LEDIB partner programme. The modules are also consistent with programs of leading international organizations for the implementation of projects such as UNDP, World Bank, the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia.

With the support of the Republican Agency for the Development of SMEs, 17 regional development offices have been established in order to delegate part of responsibilities from the national to regional levels. In accordance with the national strategy for the regional economic development, LEDIB programme through its projects support capacity building of Regional Development Offices in Serbia, especially of the Office in Nis.

This seminar is held as the third module, and participants should be provided with the basic guidelines in the process of creating regional development strategies. The first module, held in December 2008, was dedicated to the improvement of existing knowledge and skills of staff in Regional Development Offices. A study visit to offices in Bosnia is planned for the second half of August in the frame of the second module. A permanent mentoring business activity of regional offices in Nis to improve efficiency and to establish better communication with beneficiaries - entrepreneurs and SMEs and key stakeholders, is in the essence of the fourth module.
