The Local Economic Development in the Balkans (LEDIB) Programme is a five-year Programme for support to local economic development with a focus on development of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) Sector in Nisava District. The LEDIB Programme is focused on the development of textile, construction and agriculture sectors. For our mission in Nisava District we are looking for:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

 

The purpose of this post is to be responsible for the office administration and management, field coordination, implementation of the agricultural projects within Nisava District, as delegated by the LEDIB Programme representative or Advisory service founders.

The objective of the project is to establish an independent Agricultural Advisory service, which will be focused on both organizational and production advice on agricultural issues. The sectors of operation will be milk and vegetables/fruit together with their processing industries.

 

  • Scope of work:
  • Reports to the LEDIB Programme Director and Advisory Service Board,
  • Responsible to oversee and coordinate all Advisory service activities,
  • Develop, implement, and monitor training implementation according to the needs,
  • Responsible for contracting and payments,
  • Supervise and manage day to day communication with external staff (advisors, bookkeeper, lawyer, logistics and other part time associates).
  • Manage and coordinate activities on the field, within the Nisava District,
  • Support establishing of new Associations within Agro sector and joining the Advisory service,
  • Responsible for (selection) and successful completion of field projects,
  • Liaises closely with local governments, Agro institutions, Agro Associations,
  • Organize, plan and participate in meetings with partners, clients, institutions, and SMEs,
  • Create and develop strategic partnerships,
  • Assure smooth centre operations, and maintain program timetables and targets

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The percentage figures shown against each heading are only intended to convey a rough idea of the relative size of the various areas within the overall job.

 

  • Project Management, Development and Reporting (50%)
  • Administration and financial management (25%)
  • Personnel Management (15%)
  • External Relationships / Representation (10%)

 

  • Minimum skills, education and experience required:
  • Degree in Agricultural sciences, business or related discipline.
  • 5 years experience in Agro business.
  • Proven ability to work with service provision to the private sector.
  • Fluency in English is a necessity.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working in donor organization is an advantage
  • Able to travel within the Nisava District.

  • Timeliness and quality of communications,
  • Previous project management experience,
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure,
  • Team player,
  • Flexible and adaptable to ever changing environments.
